La via pulchritudinis como camino desde la ciencia hacia la trascendencia

Abstract

This paper intends to present very briefly some questions about the relationship between truth and beauty starting from the fields of science, trying to reach the threshold of transcendence. First, observations of scientists that refer to this relationship between beauty and truth are exposed. Secondly, the position of James W. McAllister is presented. Then it proceeds to a more classic analysis of the notion of beauty, taking Thomas Aquinas as the main source, and linking the notion of beauty with that of sublimity. In conclusion, both approaches to the issue are considered and it is evaluated whether they are open to transcendence or not.
