Abstract

This paper consists of, firstly, a biographical sketch of Pavel Florenskij, in which the authors trace the route of his main speculative interests and the different existential vicissitudes the thinker underwent for having remained in Russia after the Bolshevik revolution set out, as a priest of the OrthodoxChurch. Secondly, the paper links Florenskij’s work with the general coordinates of Russian thought. Finally, in the third place, the paperindicates some of his original ideas linking the history of science with Christianity and the concept of createdness, as well as the question of uni-totality in epistemological, ethical and metaphysic alterms.
