A percepção no Brasil sobre a hipótese do criacionismo da Terra Jovem

Abstract

To verify the perception of Brazilian about biological evolution, it was asked if respondents agreed or not with the statement: (Rescuing Darwin report) “Young Earth Creationism, the idea that God created the world sometime in the last 10,000 years...” The results were crossed with religion and education level. The majority of respondents agreed and this agreement increases between religious (70% of evangelicals, 50% of Catholics and 25% of spirit). The correlation decreases with the level of education. These data raise questions related to the teaching of evolution in Brazil.
