Abstract

Our era is the era of technique and technology. This has scientific, epistemological, ethical... implications. We must consider, then, the technique as a techno-scientific system. Nanoscale technology or nanotechnology is an example of techno-scientific system. Nanotechnology plays a fundamental role in miniaturization, as it seeks to take complete control of the structure of matter, building complex objects with molecular precision. And to achieve this, nanotechnology becomes necessarily an interdisciplinary science. Nanotechnology meets, well, a double function: while it describes Nature, transforms it. The mechanistic model of nanotechnology constructs a world by imposing its own laws and rationality in the matter, as an artisan, similarly to the Platonic demiurge.
