La vision africaine de la nature. Réflexions avec quelques tribus de la République Démocratique du Congo
Abstract
The word “nature” is one of those commonly used, and in a multiplicity of meanings. This is a sign of the richness of the idea that the word designates. It’s a topical theme in today’s techno-scientifically advanced world, where we are called upon to protect our environment, to manage the environment and natural resources responsibly, and to live in fraternity with the natural world around us. Is contact with the advances of science an opportunity to enrich the African people worldview, or does it, on the contrary, lead to a diminution of the rich conception that the Bantu have of the world? Let’s take a look at some Africans conceptions of nature and their relationship with it. This may help us to rediscover the primitive meaning of nature.
