Percepciones de profesores de biología, de tres países latinoamericanos, sobre las creencias del origen humano

The views of Argentine, Brazilian, and Uruguayan biology teachers about human origins related to religion were investigated. A questionnaire and some interviews were applied. Generally, Argentine and Uruguayan teachers accepted biological evolution without God intervention, while Brazilians included him. Argentine and Uruguayan teachers fit Barbour’s independence category, whereas Brazilians (with a high proportion of Evangelicals) fit the Integration category. The interviews corroborated these results. The country secularism showed no influence the teachers’ views.
