The challenge for the sciences, humanities and the biblical narrative The current situation in the field of knowledge is ambiguous legitimacy is granted to the natural sciences, but also -from Popper and Kuhn its truth value is questioned. The human sciences and philosophies are also questioned in its solidity. There seems to be room for “strong thoughts”. However, the growing ecological problem requires empirical certainties and serious ethical thoughts. The environmental crisis requires a reformulation of epistemology. Moreover, the religious thought survives and is also confronted with the crisis of the biosphere. In particular, the biblical view of nature is being updated by a thought that attempts to address environmental phenomenon from its field of meaning. This article tries to note that such thinking is articulated in the context of contemporary ambivalence about knowledge and the serious environmental problem.
