El amor como fuerza conductora del desarrollo evolutivo en Teilhard de Chardin

Abstract

According to Teilhard de Chardin, in the beings of nature a growing centricity or consciousness emerges. The force responsible for this growing centricity is an attraction from the real and divine unifying center of the universe, which Teilhard calls the Omega Point, and which is Christ. He attributes the development of this growing centricity to the force of evolution, which Teilhard describes as energy. In this paper we emphasize its distinction of two kinds of energy: tangential energy and radial energy. For him, the latter is the most important, because it is the driving force of evolution. We will show how Teilhard identifies radial energy with love, and how for him this is a love that comes from the Omega Point and draws all things to itself, while producing more and more conscious beings.
